A consortium of investors has sold about £1.6bn worth of shares in London Stock Exchange Group.

York Holdings, which is backed by Blackstone, the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, GIC Special Investments Pte and Thomson Reuters, sold around 17.3m shares in a placing to institutional investors at 9,150p each.

This is a premium of 1.1% to the closing share price on Tuesday.
