According to Sky News, the pair could place Kantar's Worldpanel arm, which supplies closely watched data on the performance of UK supermarkets, up for sale before the end of 2025.

The disposal, which Bain Capital or WPP has not formally approved, would make the company solely a brand strategy consultancy and would be listed or sold separately.

As of 0905 GMT, WPP shares were up 1.07% at 645.20p.
