Jackie Callaway named as new finance boss of Howdens.


The chief financial officer of Howden Joinery Group is to step down, the blue chip kitchen supplier said on Tuesday, to be replaced by Coats Group's Jackie Callaway.

Paul Hayes, 58, will retire as finance chief and from the board at the end of May, following five years in the role.

He will be replaced by Callaway, who currently holds the same position at textiles specialist Coats.

Howdens, which supplies kitchens, joinery products and hardware to builders, said Hayes had seen the business through "challenging markets, where it delivered strong cash generation while successfully executive executing its strategic initiatives".

Andrew Livingston, chief executive, added: "Jackie has a strong track record in leading finance teams of large UK listed companies with global operations.

"Her expertise will be invaluable to the board…as we continue to capitalise on the significant growth opportunities we have, both in our UK markets and through th development of our international operations."

Callaway, 55, will join as a director on 2 June.
