The AIM-traded aerospace and telecoms supplier said the deal covers the delivery of flight filter and diplexer assemblies in 2026.

It said the contract would support the next phase of satellite production under the Airbus-OneWeb partnership, which had already launched more than 600 satellites.

Filtronic said the value of the initial order was “significant”, with the potential for additional volumes as the constellation rollout progressed.

All assemblies would be manufactured and qualified at the company’s facility in Sedgefield, ensuring compliance with rigorous space-grade standards.

The Airbus-built satellites form part of Eutelsat OneWeb’s mission to deliver global broadband coverage by combining geostationary and LEO satellite technologies.

Formed through a 2023 merger, Eutelsat OneWeb is the world’s first fully integrated multi-orbit satellite operator.

“This contract win aligns with our strategy to expand capabilities in the space sector and places more of our technology on to operational satellite payload systems,” said chief executive officer Nat Edington.

“We are delighted to have won a second contract with a European space provider, following our announcement on 23 April, highlighting the role we have to play within this high-growth market and broadening our customer base.”

At 1028 BST, shares in Filtronic were up 5.27% at 124.22p.
