Drilling contractor West Core Drilling was scheduled to arrive on site over the weekend of 24 to 25 May, with operations set to begin shortly thereafter.

The AIM-traded firm said the programme would focus on testing extensional and down-plunge targets linked to known high-grade silver mineralisation.

It marked the first significant drilling activity at Elizabeth Hill under the joint venture, which aims to expand the project's mineralised zones and improve understanding of the deposit’s structural controls.

Real-time elemental data would be gathered using portable x-ray fluorescence (pXRF) technology, enabling on-site geologists to make informed decisions during drilling.

Preparatory work at both the drill site and the core processing facility in Karratha was already underway, ensuring the campaign proceeds efficiently.

Alien Metals said the drilling was an important step toward unlocking further value at Elizabeth Hill, a historically significant silver project in the Pilbara region.

“Commencement of drilling at Elizabeth Hill marks another major step forward for the joint venture,” said executive chairman Guy Robertson.

“With our partners at West Coast Silver now on the ground and mobilising to drill, we look forward to results from what is one of Australia's highest-grade historic silver mines.

“This work aligns with our strategy to progress the Elizabeth Hill and Pinderi Hills projects with minimal dilution to Alien shareholders while retaining exposure to significant upside.”

At 1450 BST, shares in Alien Metals were down 4% at 0.08p.
