US open: Stocks slightly lower as traders await FOMC minutes, Nvidia earnings.

Major indices were little changed early on Wednesday as market participants awaited the release of minutes from the Federal Open Market Committee's latest policy meeting and earnings from AI darling Nvidia.

As of 1530 BST, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 0.03% at 42,329.82, while the S&P 500 lost 0.04% to 5,919.16 and the Nasdaq Composite came out of the gate 0.07% weaker at 19,185.86.

The Dow opened 13.83 points lower on Wednesday, doing little to impact solid gains recorded in the previous session.

Traders were patiently awaiting Nvidia's latest set of quarterly numbers on Wednesday, set for release after the close, with investors likely paying close attention to what Chinese restrictions will mean for the chipmaker.

Investors will also thumb over minutes from the Federal Reserve's May meeting, due out at 1900 BST, as they hope to gain insight into what policymakers think the future may be for monetary policy given the current uncertain macroeconomic environment.

On the macro front, mortgage applications fell by 1.2% in the week ended 23 May, according to the Mortgage Bankers Association of America, extending the 5.1% decline in the previous week to the lowest level in three months. Applications to refinance a mortgage fell by 7.1%, while applications to purchase a home rose by 2.7%.

Elsewhere, the Richmond Federal Reserve's manufacturing index increased to -9 points in May, up from -13 in April and in line with market expectations.
