The AIM-traded company said it would supply a nine-seat ‘Auto-Shuttle’, designed to operate in challenging Canadian weather conditions.

Following delivery in the second half of 2025, the vehicle would undergo extensive testing at Area XO, the country’s all-weather research and development facility for advanced technologies, before beginning public road operations in mixed traffic in the fourth quarter of 2025.

“We are delighted to be working with KNBA and Area XO to deliver an Auto-Shuttle for use on public roads,” said chief executive David Keene.

“Not only will this see our Auto-Shuttle® operate in all-weather conditions but also provides an opportunity to demonstrate its capabilities in a live traffic environment.

“As we continue to build on our go-to-market efforts to bring our cutting edge, autonomous technologies to airports around the world, this project demonstrates the robust capabilities of our products, provides valuable insights into live operations and strengthens our presence in the North American market.”Aurrigo said the trial would generate data to refine its autonomous shuttle solutions for airports worldwide, where vehicles must perform reliably in complex and diverse environments.

The company said it had been focusing its go-to-market strategy on airport deployments, citing safety, inclusivity and operational adaptability as key requirements.

“Kanata North is home to Canada's largest technology park and more than 540 companies shaping the future of mobility, connectivity, and innovation,” commented Kelly Daize, executive director of the Kanata North Business Association.

“This project ... is not only a historic first for Canada - it’s a powerful example of how industry, government, and community can come together to test real-world solutions that improve accessibility, advance safety, and create a blueprint for the future of transportation in all seasons.”

At 1221 BST, shares in Aurrigo International were up 11.01% at 52.73p.
