Neil Eady, who has been with the company for 12 years and currently leads the finance function of Berkeley Capital, has been appointed to the board with immediate effect.

The promotion follows former CFO Richard Stearn's move to become chief executive earlier in the summer, after former CEO Rob Perrins stepped up to the executive chair position.

Eady has 22 years of experience in the property and development sector, having been at Land Securities for 10 years prior to joining Berkeley in 2013.

"I am delighted to welcome Neil to the board as CFO," Perrins said in a statement on Monday.

"In making this appointment the board considered both internal and external candidates. Neil's broad experience, both at Berkeley and in his previous career, the relationships he has established and knowledge of our culture and systems make him ideally placed for the role. It also demonstrates the strength and depth at Berkeley."
