Alfa Financial will now proceed with a search for Magrath's successor.
Andrew Denton, Alfa's chief executive, said: "I would like to thank Duncan for the guidance and support that he has provided me and our Alfa colleagues since he joined in March 2020. He has made a huge contribution over that time as Alfa has transitioned into a SaaS focused software and delivery company. He has built a team and processes that provide a strong platform for the future growth of the business.
"We wish Duncan a well-deserved and an enjoyable retirement after a long and successful career."
