The AIM-traded designer and supplier of testing, simulation and measurement products to the global transport market said Lewis would join the executive committee.

It said the interim appointment followed the recent promotion of Sarah Matthews-DeMers to chief executive officer and the launch of a formal process to identify a new permanent CFO.

The company said the search for a successor was progressing as planned but, recognising the likely timeline to complete the process, the board had decided to make an interim appointment.

It said Lewis was bringing more than 30 years’ experience in finance roles, primarily within FTSE 250 engineering businesses.

He previously served as chief financial officer at Chemring Group for eight years until 2024 and, before that, was CFO at Avon Rubber between 2008 and 2016.

“I am delighted that Andrew is joining the team on an interim basis,” Matthews-DeMers said.

“Andrew is a seasoned CFO with an excellent reputation and track record in the public markets and will be a valuable addition to the team, supporting the group until a permanent CFO is in place.”

At 1133 GMT, shares in AB Dynamics were up 3.16% at 1,279.2p.
