The AIM-traded firm said the contract covered the delivery of integrated communication systems and networks for the Navy’s new fleet, including supply and offshore patrol vessels, with work scheduled to run through to 2029.

“The award of this contract underlines EID's position as a trusted provider of integrated communications systems that enhance maritime security and operational effectiveness,” said chief executive Andy Thomis.

He added that the agreement, alongside a recent contract win by EM Solutions for satellite communications terminals, highlighted the group’s relationship with the Portuguese Navy.

“We are proud to support their modernisation programme with capabilities across the Group that align with their evolving operational requirements,” Thomis said.

The company said the contract would further support its order book and provide greater visibility over future revenues.

At 1122 GMT, shares in Cohort were up 0.32% at 1,242p.
