As of 1230 BST, Dow Jones futures were up 0.12%, while S&P 500 and Nasdaq-100 futures had the indices opening 0.05% and 0.22% firmer, respectively.

The Dow closed 468.77 points higher on Monday, extending record-setting gains recorded in the previous session, buoyed by news that Washington and Tehran had reached an agreement to end their conflict.

Tuesday's pre-market moves come after Donald Trump announced that the US and Iran had reached an agreement to end the war in the Middle East. Pakistan's prime minister Shehbaz Sharif said both sides had declared an end to military operations, with a formal signing ceremony expected on Friday in Switzerland.

A senior US official said the memorandum of understanding had already been signed electronically on Sunday, while Trump also said the Strait of Hormuz would reopen on Friday and vice‑president JD Vance said the passageway would remain "toll‑free" over the long term.

On the macro front, monthly building permits and housing starts data will be released at 1330 BST.

In terms of earnings, La-Z-Boy was slated to report earnings after the close.
