Premium iron ore production fell 3% to 15.4 million tonnes, while manganese output rose 22% to 908,300 tonnes and rough diamond production increased 88% to 7.8 million carats against a weak comparative period.
The FTSE 100 miner maintained its 2026 production guidance but cut expected copper unit costs to around 145 cents per pound from 172 cents, helped by stronger by-product credits and favourable currency movements.
Anglo American also said the sale of its steelmaking coal business remained on track for completion by the first quarter of 2027, while its merger with Teck was progressing within the previously stated September 2026 to March 2027 completion window.
At 0902 BST, shares in Anglo American were up 4.73% at 3,696p.
