LSEG lifts FY guidance after record first half.


London Stock Exchange Group lifted its full-year guidance on Thursday as it hailed a record first-half performance and an "exceptional" performance from the markets businesses.

In the six months to the end of June, reported pre-tax profit rose 29% to £1.2bn, with total income excluding recoveries up 6.9% to £4.8bn.

Adjusted earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation were up 13.7% at £2.5bn.

Total income in Data & Analytics rose 5.1%, while FTSE Russell and Risk Intelligence saw increases of 9.1% and 9.7% respectively, and the markets business saw a jump of 11.9%.

For 2026, LSEG now expects total income organic constant currency growth of between 7% and 7.5%, versus previous guidance of between 6.5% and 7.5%, including an acceleration in its subscription businesses’ organic growth.

In addition, constant currency EBITDA margin is expected to grow by around 100 basis, versus previous guidance for growth of 80 to 100 basis points.

Chief executive David Schwimmer said: "We have delivered a record first half performance, once again demonstrating our ability to grow and create value in any market environment. We have driven growth across all of our businesses through continued product innovation and a strong focus on customer partnership.

"Our Markets businesses had an exceptional first half, achieving double-digit growth through sustained investment. With our plans for LSE 24 and growing momentum of transactions on the Private Securities Market, we are opening up significant new market opportunities."

At 0811 BST, the shares were down 2.3% at 8,945.13p.
