Schroders reported a 46% rise in first-half adjusted operating profit to £459.8m on Thursday, as higher assets under management and cost savings improved operating leverage.

Adjusted net operating income increased 17% to £1.42bn, while statutory pre-tax profit more than doubled to £396.8m from £196.9m.
Assets under management reached a record £867.8bn, although the group recorded net outflows of £8.3bn excluding joint ventures and associates.
The interim dividend was increased to 7.0p per share from 6.5p.
The FTSE 100 asset manager said it had delivered more than 98% of its £150m annualised transformation savings target, helping reduce its adjusted cost-to-income ratio to 68% from 74% a year earlier.
“We have accelerated our transformation programme, delivering over 98% of our planned £150m annualised cost savings,” said chief executive Richard Oldfield.
Schroders added that its proposed combination with Nuveen remained on track to complete in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals.
At 0939 BST, shares in Schroders were up 0.08% at 589p.
