Ord, who took over as CEO in June 2018, sold the shares on Tuesday at an average price of 611.85p each, for a total value of £1.22m.
Following the sale, Ord holds a beneficial interest in 372,991 ordinary Chemring shares.
As of 1530 BST, Chemring shares were up 3.50% at 635p.
