Industrial production was broadly flat across Europe in June, according to first estimates from Eurostat, with output unchanged in the euro area and up 0.2% in the wider EU - following a 0.3% rise in both regions in May.

On an annualised basis, production edged 0.1% higher in the euro area and rose 0.6% across the EU.
By industrial grouping, euro area output in June fell 0.8% for intermediate goods and 1.4% for capital goods, while energy rose 1.5%. Durable consumer goods, on the other hand, increased 0.3% and non‑durables jumped 3.0%. In the EU, intermediate goods slipped 0.7% and capital goods 0.9%, while energy rose 1.0%. Durable goods were up 0.9% and non‑durables 2.5%.
Among member states, Denmark posted the strongest monthly gain at 5.4%, followed by Croatia at 5.2%, and Lithuania and Finland at 2.1%. The steepest declines were recorded in Luxembourg, Portugal and Estonia.
Compared with June 2025, euro‑area output rose for intermediate goods, energy and capital goods, but fell for durable consumer goods and non‑durables. In the EU, annual growth was 1.0% for intermediate goods, 0.3% for energy and 0.9% for capital goods, while durable and non‑durable consumer goods declined 0.9% and 0.3%, respectively.
Lithuania, Denmark and Poland saw the strongest annual increases, while Luxembourg, Romania and Estonia posted the largest falls.
