Bloomberg consensus is for Wetherspoons to report adjusted earnings per share of 42p, revenue of £2.22bn and adjusted pre-tax profit of £63.6m. Adjusted operating profit is seen at £123.3m while pre-tax profit is expected to be £61.9m and like-for-like sales are estimated to have ticked up 4.1%.
The NFP report is due at 1330 BST. Expectations are for 90,000 to 100,000 jobs to have been added in September, while the unemployment rate is expected to hold steady at 4.1%.
Kathleen Brooks, research director at XTB, said: "The ADP reading showed a pick-up in private sector hiring from 36k in August to 90k in September, the market had expected a reading of 70k.
"However, there is no real correlation between ADP and payrolls, so financial markets and investors are likely to remain sensitive to Friday’s data, and the market reaction could be volatile."
