FTSE 100 movers: Ocado on the rise; Pershing Square falls.

London’s FTSE 100 was down 0.1% at 7,057.55 in afternoon trade on Friday, largely shrugging off a disappointing US non-farm payrolls report.

Bill Ackman’s Pershing Square Holdings was in the red after it said its special acquisition vehicle Pershing Square Tontine Holdings was in talks to buy a 10% stake in Universal Music Group for $4bn (£2.bn).

CMC Markets analyst Michael Hewson said: "It seems investors aren’t exactly enthused at the prospect of this deal given the thin margins."

On the upside, online supermarket Ocado and Just Eat Takeaway - both of which have benefitted from Covid restrictions and lockdowns - were among the biggest gainers.

Hewson said: "With airline stocks still under pressure as a result of yesterday’s changes to the travel traffic light system, the likes of Ocado and Just Eat are amongst the best performers on the basis of expectations of a slower relaxation of restrictions."
